ChampionScott Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of David A. Gagne as Executive Vice President & General Manager of Advanced Informatics and MedHub, both Ascend Learning Companies. Ascend Learning is a leading provider of technology-based educational, curriculum and assessment solutions for healthcare and other high-growth career industries around the world.
Mr. Gagne brings to Ascend over 20 years of business leadership experience, having served in senior roles encompassing general management, operations, sales, marketing, strategy and product in software and technology companies. He joins Ascend Learning from Total Logistics, a provider of logistics, transportation and technology services, where he was Senior Vice President. Previously, Mr. Gagne served as CEO and Director of Winland Electronics, a publicly traded cloud-based software and hardware provider of environmental monitoring solutions. As CEO, he developed and launched a new cloud-based software solution within his first year while driving the company’s vision, strategy, planning and execution of business operations.
Prior to joining Winland, Mr. Gagne was COO of Xata Corp., a leading provider of SaaS and mobile solutions for fleet optimization. He enjoyed success with Xata for five years, growing software revenue from $3 million to $48 million and increasing SaaS subscribers from 11,000 to 123,000. Mr. Gagne also led a progressive career at Lawson Software in a series of successive sales leadership roles. Most notably, he was Vice President of the $100 million healthcare business unit and ultimately led strategic development for the overall business.
Mr. Gagne earned his B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from Boston University.
