ChampionScott Partners has recruited Mr. Charles Stonehill as Chief Finance Officer for Better Place (http://www.betterplace.com). Better Place, the world’s leading mobility operator, aims to end the world’s dependence on oil for personal transportation by building a network for charging electric cars powered by renewable energy. With initial investor funding in excess of $200 million, Better Place began deployment in Israel in 2008 and will begin operating the network of charge spots and battery switch stations in 2010. The company plans similar network deployments in Denmark, Australia, California, Hawaii and Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Stonehill, who has relocated from London to Better Place’s Palo Alto headquarters, has over 30 years of experience in finance and investment banking. Most recently he was non-executive chairman of Panmure Gordon & Co. PLC in London. Mr. Stonehill held senior positions at many of the world’s leading investment banks including: Lazard Freres as Global Head of Capital Markets, Head of Investment Banking for Credit Suisse First Boston in the Americas, and Head of European Equities and Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Stonehill began his career at J.P. Morgan & Co. in the oil and gas investment banking group. He currently serves as a member of the board of Swiss-based Julius Baer Group, the London Metal Exchange, and is also a Trustee of the American School in London.

Mr. Stonehill is a Harrow School Scholar and attended Magdalen College, Oxford earning a M.A. Hons. in Modern History.
