Yahoo" Jerry Yang. Yang, one of the Internet company's two founders,
was at the helm during Yahoo!'s (nasdaq: YHOO - news - people) botched
acquisition talks with Microsoft (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people) and a
bold play by outside investor, Carl Icahn, to replace Yahoo!'s board.
The January appointment of Bartz, a seasoned tech-industry veteran, as
CEO was viewed by many as a move to end the tumult and give some adult
supervision to a dispirited workforce.
