Roger Oberg Placed as the Chief Marketing Officer of Spotfire, Inc.
August 2006 - ChampionScott Partners has placed former IBM marketing and strategy executive Roger Oberg as the Chief Marketing Officer at Spotfire, Inc. (http://www.spotfire.com). Spotfire is a leading provider of interactive business analytics software that helps business professionals discover new and actionable insights in information.
Most recently, Mr.Oberg was the vice president of marketing and strategy for IBM's Rational software division. He had been a marketing and business unit executive with Rational since 1996. Mr. Oberg was part of Rational Software's original team prior to its acquisition by IBM in 2003, having joined by way of acquisition in 1997 as Vice President and General Manager of the Requirements Products group. Prior to Rational, Mr. Oberg was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Requisite, Inc., which was acquired by Rational Software in 1997. Prior to Requisite, Mr. Oberg held a variety of product development, engineering, sales and marketing roles at US West, XVT Software and NBI, Inc.
Oberg received his AB in Economics and Organizational Psychology from the Honors College at the University of Michigan.
Mr. Oberg will oversee all product strategy, product marketing, and market management efforts related to the evangelization and success of Spotfire.
