Jeff Abramowitz Appointed VP Marketing of Azimuth

August 2005 - ChampionScott Partners has placed Jeff Abramowitz at Azimuth Systems (www.azimuthsystems.com)as the company’s new Vice President of Marketing. Azimuth is the industry’s leading provider of Wi-Fi communications test solutions. The products are used by the world’s leading Wi-Fi semiconductor and system vendors to test the performance, conformance and certification of wireless devices and networks supporting data, voice and video applications. The company is based in Acton, Massachusetts and is backed by North Bridge Venture Partners and Kodiak Venture Partners.

Abramowitz joins Azimuth from Broadcom, where he led the company’s Wi-Fi marketing efforts, including business development, product management, product marketing and customer support. During Abramowitz’s tenure, Broadcom entered the Wi-Fi market and rapidly became the market share leader. Abramowitz brings 20 years of marketing and engineering experience to Azimuth, having also served in senior marketing positions at Intersil, No Wires Needed (acquired by Intersil) and 3Com. In 1996 Abramowitz founded the Wireless LAN Association (WLANA) and served as its first president. He also helped found the Wi-Fi Alliance, the organization responsible for certifying and promoting interoperability among Wi-Fi products.
