Dr. Prasad Akella Placed as the Chief Technology Officer for Cydelity

August 2005 - ChampionScott Partners has placed Dr. Prasad Akella as the Chief Technology Officer for Cydelity. (www.cydelity.com) Cydelity is a security software company that provides a fraud detection system for commercial & government enterprises to assure the "Cyber_Fidelity" of online transactions.

Dr. Akella joins Cydelity from Netaps, where he was an Advisor and Acting VP of Business Development and Marketing. Netaps applies sophisticated optimization techniques to solve computationally hard business problems. Prior to Netaps, Dr. Akella co-founded Spoke Software and also acted as the firm’s Vice President of Platform Products. Prior to co-founding Spoke Software, Dr. Akella was the Director of Product Management at Commerce One, Inc. In his earlier career, Dr. Akella worked for General Motors as an engineer; he was a US National Science Foundation/Japan Science & Technology Agency Fellow and worked for MITI’s Mechanical Engineering Lab in Japan. He had also worked for five years as a research assistant in Stanford University where he received his Ph.D in Electric Engineering.
