Kip Kokinakis Placed as Chief Executive Officer at MicroOptical Corporation

July 2006 - ChampionScott Partners has placed Kip Kokinakis as the Chief Executive Officer at MicroOptical Corporation. MicroOptical (http://www.microoptical.net)is the leading supplier of eyewear viewers for the portable electronics industry. MicroOptical has developed a range of highly ergonomic eyewear products, including the myvu™ personal media viewer for portable video players such as the Apple iPod Video and 3G cell phones. The company is funded by leading venture firms including Atlas Venture, The Hillman Company, Intel Capital and Turner Broadcasting.

Mr. Kokinakis was most recently Chairman and CEO of Aura Communications, a start-up venture funded fabless semiconductor company positioned as a leader in near-field communications. Prior to Aura, Mr. Kokinakis was the CEO of Aureal Semiconductor, and the CEO of Memec's Asia-Pacific organization (a multi-billion European electronics components distributor) based in Hong Kong. Mr. Kokinakis began his career in the semiconductor industry in 1973 with Harris Semiconductor and worked in various sales and marketing capacities with Silicon Systems, National Semiconductor, Xilinx and Microchip Technology.
