Victor Ren Appointed Chief Executive Officer at Quintic

June 2007 - ChampionScott Partners has placed Victor Ren as the Chief Executive Officer at Quintic, a fabless IC design company focusing on the mobile multimedia market. Mr. Ren will be relocating to Beijing, and will split his time between Quintic's China and U.S. operations, as Quintic's initial products will serve the explosively growing China consumer electronics market.

Founded in 2005 in Silicon Valley, Quintic has been backed by leading venture capital firms IDG Ventures, Walden International, Harbinger Ventures, and Tallwood Capital. Dada Banatao of Tallwood Capital serves as Quintic’s Chairman.

Mr. Ren has deep expertise in the consumer electronics space. Most recently he was Chief Operating Officer at Auvitek Corporation, a startup focused on developing DTV demodulators. Prior to Auvitck, Mr. Ren was Vice President of Marketing at ESS Technology, a publicly traded semiconductor company providing chips for DVD players and other consumer electronics products. Prior to ESS Technology, Mr. Ren was the Vice President of Product Marketing at Cirrus Logic, which he joined through their acquisition of Stream Machine, where he was Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ren was founder of several start-ups and worked in engineering, sales and marketing capacities.

A native of Shanghai, Mr. Ren holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Marquette University, and a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
