Tiemin Zhao Placed as Senior Director of Operations at GTronix

May 2007 - ChampionScott Partners has placed Tiemin Zhao as the Senior Director of Operations at GTronix (http://www.gtronix.com). GTronix is a fabless semiconductor company based in Fremont, California focused on ultra-low power, high-speed signal processing integrated circuits (ICs) that offer orders of magnitude power savings for mobile device applications. GTronix has been funded by Menlo Ventures and JAFCO.

Dr. Zhao was most recently interim Director of Operations at DisplayLink, a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Cambridge, U.K and Silicon Valley focused on developing network graphics technology that allows more flexible connections to be made between computers and monitors. At DisplayLink, Dr. Zhao helped the company design its outsourcing strategy for manufacturing. Prieviously, Dr. Zhao was Director of Process Development and Operations at Reflectivity, Inc, a fabless semiconductor start up in Digital Light Processing technology which was sold to Texas Instruments. Prior to Reflectivity, Dr. Zhao was the Director of Operations and Technology at OmniVision, a market leader in CMOS image sensors for cell phone and digital cameras. Earlier in his career, Dr. Zhao held various engineering and design positions at Actel, Xilinx, Matsushita and Cypress Semiconductor.

Dr. Zhao holds a number of U. S. and European patents. He received his B.S. in Computer Science and Technology and M.S. in Microelectronics from Peking University in China, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
